Bug description
I'm running LMDE with the Wayland compositor on a Chuwi N150. The touchscreen works in that touches and pinches are registered.
But I cannot launch apps. Tapping the icons on the bottom bar doesn't do anything. If I long press on the WiFi icon, a pop-up shows my SSID etc. But tapping just causes the icon to flash and nothing else. Same as the Firefox icon - long press shows its name, tapping makes it flash.
If I'm in an app, like system settings, taps work. Windows can be maximised, minimised and dragged around on the touchscreen. File menus can be opened and buttons pressed, scrolling works.
If I manually open the Mint menu, I can't scroll or launch apps. Tapping the icon causes them to flash, but nothing else.
Everything works in an X11 session.
Steps to reproduce
Run Wayland on a touchscreen. Try to interact with the menu.
Expected behavior
Touches should launch apps.
