When having a full- screen application open (like YouTube in full screen mode), the dock thats opened with Meta is not usable, while the menu is. This makes really annoying when quickly switching open apps.

Steps to reproduce

Opening the Dock with Meta while having a full-screen application open. For example a YouTube--Video

Expected behavior

It should be actually usable like in Plasma and Windows. This is, what new users expect to happen.

Hi @Selmataria, are you able to reproduce this in a completely fresh Linux Mint 22.3 environment, e.g. booting from a USB stick?

You also don't mention whether you're using X11 or Wayland, which is a key piece of information. You can check with the "System Information" app, or check the output of inxi -G run from a terminal. I often see people include the output of inxi -Fxxrzc0¹ in bug reports straight away (for example), and that may be helpful next time you report a bug.

You can easily switch which type of session (X11/Wayland) from the login screen, by clicking on the Cinnamon icon in the upper-right of the login box.

Reason I ask is: I attempted to reproduce with a YouTube video viewed from youtube.com in the Firefox browser, then through mpv using yt-dlp, then the same video downloaded as an .mp4, opened with Mint's default video player, Celluloid. In each case, with the video in full-screen mode, the Meta key opened the main menu as expected.
