Unclear status of wacom-led-helper

In version 5.2.0 wacom-led-helper was removed via commit 619ed93. In version 5.4.4 it was readded (for unclear reasons) via commit 88e9de5. It almost looks like a merge error or something like that.

Even in version 5.2.0 with the deleted wacom-led-helper the Polkit polkicy file plugins/wacom/org.cinnamon.settings-daemon.plugins.wacom.policy.in is still present and also installed, although the program to be called no longer exists.

Is it safe to remove remaining traces of wacom-led-helper from cinnamon-settings-daemon?
