In context:

GHC can take a Haskell file (they usually have a .hs extension) and compile it but it also has an interactive mode which allows you to interactively interact with files. Interactively. You can call functions from files that you load and the results are displayed immediately. For learning it’s a lot easier and faster than compiling every time you make a change and then running the program from the prompt. [...]

This phrasing was intended as humorous. You'll find this kind of thing a lot throughout the book, inspired as it was by _why's work.

Thanks for your response, and for citing the context around the text about which I wrote. It occurred to me that the phrasing might be intentional, and since it was, I would not want to cramp anyone's style.

No, the phrase does not leave me confused. Like many, I have some interest in Haskell. It seems interesting and worthy of attention. Also like many, I wonder about the practical benefits of learning it, as an addition to more commonplace languages like Python, JavaScript, or C.
