[Chrome] [ChromeOS] Does not install at all in ChromeOS s' latest builds. #2777

Description

I tried to reproduce the issue when...

  • AdNauseam is the only extension
  • AdNauseam uses default lists and settings
  • Using a new, unmodified browser profile

Description

ChromeOS has removed the v2 manifest flag as well as the unexpire flags to re-enable those flags and now prevents AdNauseam from installing.

The advault json for it may be helpful, can we get it?

A summary of what i have tried so far:

Unfortunately disabling OS Verification leads to security compromises I'm not willing to take so dev mode is out.

I have tried cold adding different switches to the treat as secure origin flag box.

I have tried using crostini/aurora these cause other instability and security issues.

I have tried (multiple ways) (without any success) faking the min requirement/mv version info within the extension itself.

I have tried older versions of the extension and latest builds.

I have tried safety reset and then re-enabling the extension.

I have tried moving to beta as well as dev channels.
