Quick Start: Phase 3 & 4 (xDS + Envoy L7 Proxy)

Version: v1.0.0 Date: December 12, 2025

Prerequisites

  • Docker 24.0+
  • Docker Compose 2.0+
  • Linux kernel 5.10+ (for XDP)
  • 4GB+ RAM

Quick Start (5 minutes)

Step 1: Clone and Navigate

cd /home/penguin/code/MarchProxy

Step 2: Build Components

Option A: Docker Build (Recommended)

# Build xDS server
cd api-server/xds
make docker-build

# Build Envoy L7 proxy
cd ../../proxy-l7
make build-docker

Option B: Local Build (For Development)

# Install prerequisites
# - Rust: curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://sh.rustup.rs | sh
# - Go: https://go.dev/dl/
# - LLVM/Clang: sudo apt-get install clang llvm libbpf-dev

# Build xDS server
cd api-server/xds
make build

# Build Envoy components
cd ../../proxy-l7
make build

Step 3: Start Services

XDP Optimization

Troubleshooting

xDS Server Not Starting
