Quick Start

Step 1: Verify Deliverables

cd /home/penguin/code/MarchProxy
./scripts/verify-phase5-docs.sh

Expected Output:

✓ Found: docs/PHASE5_L3L4_IMPLEMENTATION.md
✓ Found: docs/PHASE5_QUICKSTART.md
✓ Found: docs/README_PHASE5.md
✓ Found: PHASE5_SUMMARY.md
✓ Found: scripts/implement-phase5-l3l4.sh
✓ Script is executable: implement-phase5-l3l4.sh
✓ proxy-egress directory exists
✓ All Phase 5 documentation is in place!

Step 2: Run Implementation Script

./scripts/implement-phase5-l3l4.sh

This will:

  1. Copy proxy-egress → proxy-l3l4
  2. Update module name
  3. Update all imports
  4. Create feature directories
  5. Add dependencies
  6. Create placeholder files
  7. Validate build

Time: ~2 minutes

Step 3: Implement Features

Follow the week-by-week plan in docs/PHASE5_QUICKSTART.md:

  • Week 1: QoS Traffic Shaping
  • Week 2: Multi-Cloud Routing & Observability
  • Week 3: NUMA Optimization & Testing
  • Week 4: Integration & Deployment

Implementation Workflow

Automated Path (Recommended)

# 1. Verify documentation
./scripts/verify-phase5-docs.sh

# 2. Run setup script
./scripts/implement-phase5-l3l4.sh

# 3. Implement QoS (Week 1)
cd proxy-l3l4
# Copy code from docs/PHASE5_L3L4_IMPLEMENTATION.md lines 125-364
# to internal/qos/*.go files

# 4. Implement Multi-Cloud (Week 2)
# Copy code from docs/PHASE5_L3L4_IMPLEMENTATION.md lines 366-648
# to internal/multicloud/*.go files

# 5. Implement Observability (Week 2)

# to internal/observability/*.go files

# 6. Implement NUMA (Week 3)
# Copy code from docs/PHASE5_L3L4_IMPLEMENTATION.md lines 693-725
# to internal/acceleration/numa/*.go files

# 7. Test and build
go test -v ./...
go build -o marchproxy-l3l4 cmd/proxy/main.go

# 8. Build Docker image
docker build -t marchproxy/proxy-l3l4:v1.0.0 .

# 9. Test in docker-compose
docker-compose up -d proxy-l3l4
