+# Can't create a Confluent connector
+
+This article helps you resolve failures that can occur when you try to create a Confluent connector in Azure.
+
+## Prerequisites
+
+- An Azure account with an active subscription [Create an account for free](https://azure.microsoft.com/free).
+- An existing Confluent organization. If you don't have one, see [Create a Confluent organization](/azure/partner-solutions/apache-kafka-confluent-cloud/create).
+- An app deployed to [Azure App Service](/azure/app-service/quickstart-dotnetcore), [Azure Container Apps](/azure/container-apps/quickstart-portal), [Azure Spring Apps](https://azure.microsoft.com/products/spring-apps/?msockid=16f3be2d0f1066e62759a8150e8867c4), or [Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)](/azure/aks/learn/quick-kubernetes-deploy-portal).

+## Symptoms
+
+- Unable to create a Confluent connector in Azure.
+- Error or failure when using the connector creation page.
+
+## Causes
+
+- You don't have the required permissions. 
+- One or more required values on the connector creation page are incorrect.
+- The Azure service you're trying to connect to isn't configured correctly.
+
+## Solution 1: Verify permissions 
+
+- Ensure that you have the required permissions to create Confluent connectors. You need to have an Owner or Contributor role in the Azure subscription and appropriate permissions on the Confluent Kafka cluster.  
+
+## Solution 2: Check Azure service configuration
+
+Verify that the Azure service you're trying to connect to is configured properly.
+
+## Solution 3: Escalate to Confluent support
+
+If the issue persists after you verify permissions and configuration, contact [Confluent support](https://support.confluent.io).

+- Unable to create a service connection for Confluent Cloud by using Service Connector.

+- The Confluent organization is inactive or not running.
+- The Confluent Marketplace resource is inactive or in an unsubscribed status.
+- Schema-based data types (like Avro) are used, but the schema registry isn't configured.

+## Solution 1: Ensure that the Confluent organization is active

+- Verify that your Confluent organization is active and running.
+
+## Solution 2: Check the Confluent Marketplace resource status
+
+- If you used the Confluent Marketplace resource, confirm that your Azure Native Integrations Confluent organization is active and not in an unsubscribed status.

+# Can't delete a resource
+
+This article helps you resolve problems with deleting a Confluent Cloud resource in Azure, including permission problems and retention policy restrictions.
+
+## Prerequisites
+
+- Access to the [Azure portal](https://portal.azure.com) and the subscription containing the Confluent Cloud resource.
+- Permissions to view role assignments.
+
+## Symptoms
+
+- You can't delete a Confluent Cloud resource in the Azure portal.
+- The delete action is unavailable or fails with a permissions error.
+
+## Cause
+
+- You must have permission to take `Microsoft.Confluent/*/Delete` actions on the resource. 
+- If you have the correct permissions but still can't delete the resource, the problem might be related to the Confluent retention policy.
+
+## Solution 1: Verify or obtain delete permissions
+
+1. In the Azure portal, go to the resource and select **Access control (IAM)**.
+1. View your role assignments. Confirm that you have a role that allows `Microsoft.Confluent/*/Delete` actions. For information about viewing permissions, see [List Azure role assignments by using the Azure portal](/azure/role-based-access-control/role-assignments-list-portal).
+1. If you don't have the correct permissions, contact your Azure subscription admin to assign the necessary role.
+
+## Solution 2: Escalate to Confluent support for retention policy problems
+
+If you have the correct permissions but still can't delete the resource, contact [Confluent support](https://support.confluent.io). This problem might be related to the Confluent retention policy. Confluent support can delete the organization and email address for you.
