The Windows logon troubleshooter addresses issues with user logon by repairing corrupted or missing resource files. It runs automatically on machines that have corrupted or missing resource files and can't be run manually. To check if it has run, go to **Start** > **Settings** > **Update & Security** > **Troubleshoot** > **View troubleshooting history** in Windows 10, or **Start** > **Settings** > **System** > **Troubleshoot** > **Recommended troubleshooter history** in Windows 11, and look for **Windows logon troubleshooter** and **fix Windows logon issue**.
